Anyone make this workbench and can answer some questions
This a large 3-sided bench on wheels which straddles table saw in stored position against the wall. I am cosidering this worktable for a hybrid saw w 70 inch Biesmeyer rail. Wokbench can be sized so it is a perfect full length cut off table behind your saw. Plan available at www.woodmagazine.com (http://www.woodmagazine.com)
Table Top features 2 layers of MDF topped with HB. Framing is heavy duty doubled 2 x 4. Table is on casters in stored position. Pull it out from wall and casters rotate out of the way and table rests on 2x4 with leg levelers
when in use.
This could be ideal for my cramped garage shop. I am little skeptical about the rotating caster set up. Has anyone built this and how did it work out.
I would like to drill 3/4 inch dog holes in table top surface. Any suggestions on how to drill accurate vertical 3/4 inch holes in table top ( I will reinforce table top center with 2 x 2 tubular steel)
My shop has no vise other than machinist vise I clamp into workmate when needed. I envision various sized 1X stops glued to 2 dowels which will drop into dog holes in table top for surface work.......will use a pair of wedges to lock in place
Your thoughts and suggestions appreciated
