Here is the first project out of the shop, the wife wanted a table and chairs for the kids. Made it from red oak, finished with 3 coats of Watco Danish Oil and 4 coats of satin poly. I had a couple stair treads that I used for the table top. It should hopefully withstand their abuse.

The table is 20" high, 23" deep and 36" long. The chairs backs are 29" tall and the seat is 12" x 12" with the top of the seat bottom 12" from the ground.

You did an excellent job with the red oak. Those guys look "tough" but the table looks like it can handle all those "hombre's" can throw it's way. :)

Sarge..

One word: Fantastic. Fantastic is the table you made, and Fantastic is the product you will want to keep on hand for clean up. Amazing how NOT washable, 'washable' paint and crayons can be.

Nice looking table and chairs, I have to make one of those in the next few months.

I am sure the boys will love it and used it for years.

Thanks for all the replies. It was fun to build.

The wife has already put in the next order:D, a bookcase for the youngest hombre's room.

That table set is awesome. I have been talking to the wife about building the same thing exept I had wanted to paint the top with chalkboard paint. After seeing how good yours looks I now leaning towards making the chalkboard top removable. Also thanks for the dimensions, I hope you don't mind if I steal them, I have been wondering what size to make it.
