Good morning all!
Yesterday was our meeting for the Chippewa Valley Woodturners Guild and we had a guest demontrator come in and give us a bowl turning demo. Greg haugen is the president of the Coulee Region Woodturners and has risen quite quickly into the ranks of a well known turner. If you are a member of the AAW you should have recieved your American Woodturner magazine in the last week, on page one Greg has one of his pieces in the there. He also sells his work in the gift shop at AAW headquarters in St. Paul MN. He has pieces in the gallery in the gallery.
He gave us a very good demo on turning bowls, he did 2 out of cherry. The first was about a 10"x4" bowl with a bead on the outside and the other a nice thin NE bowl about 8"x3.5" he turned these green/wet and the curls were flying! His techiques are good and both his personality and style were easy to be around! So if you ever get a chance to see or meet Greg it would be a good experience.
