If ya know what a Goat Locker is in your current life , and are a member of it , or knew what one was in another life , and was a member of it , then we have our own social group here at SMC ..

PM me if you are/were a member of this fine organization , and I'll send you an invitation to join it ..

Jack...I kinda thought that is what it was....that's why I pointed out my father and youngest son being CPOs....

No was a Navy LT. and is now a CPO. He resigned his commission and enlisted before he got up from the table and they geve him E-6. He has since been promoted to E-7. He has a degree in Natural Sciences (pre-med) and is currently going to dental school on a Navy Scholarship. If he does the 4 years of dental school as an enlisted man, they count towards retirement. If he did it as an officer...they didn't count. Of course...all doctors and dentists start as Lts.....so when he graduates dental school....he's back commissioned at the same rank as before.....

I have few regrets , not taking free college is one of them , but , wasnt meant to be i suppose .. Course by now I'd be a grumpy senior captain or admiral

When I was down there quite a few of the guys spent their entire career rotating between the Lex for sea duty and one of the shore billets in the area .. And most were from NW Florida and Alabama ..

Jack, thanks for creating this group. It's truly an honor to be part of another Goat Locker, especially this one. Thanks to Dewey for forwarding this too me. I was just logging on to check in at home before breakfast...what a surprise of an invite.

I've posted over on the group.

Again, very glad to be part of it...thanks again Jack.

Be well,

Doc
