I am interested in doing some Zippo engraving. I have used Cermark with success but was interested in either a rotary engraving system or a impact printer. Has anybody done any photo-engraving on Zippos and if so what system are you using? Can you only do photo engraving with an impact type of printer?

Ive done zippos with custom logos and text on my laser but I dont know what an impact printer is. Is it a diamond etch engraver? If it is we have five of those and they work very well on zippos also.

A rotary/diamond drag machine will not engrave photographs. Depending on the art you can convert them to vector drawings but you will lose the shading and it becomes a line drawing.

I've been looking at a Metaza 80. This is an impact printer and will do photos. All I've been able to see is what the company provides. Quality of the engraving I'm not sure about.

I've never tried to use one only seen them demonstrated.

They look as if they would do a Zippo very well.

Get hold of one of the reps and ask them to demonstrte it on your Zippo.
