Hi, y'all -- first time poster (old geezer from Arkansas)

QUESTION: Is there room in this world for one more part-timer who would like to turn out only crown moulding on his old Woodmaster planer/moulder?

Seems like I have all of the resources -- time, all of the oak wood I need -- either from my own trees or from a sawmill that produces a lot of slabwood that they give away for free -- and most of these slabs have quite a bit of good oak in them. Room to airdry -- well set up shop. Seems to easy, and that scares me. If something is really easy, everybody should be doing it, but very few people around here are doing anything like this. We cut up prime oak trees and use them for firewood.

What am I missing? What's the catch?

Thanks

Gerald McCall

Welcome to the Creek, Gerald.
I guess most people would rather buy mouldings than make them.
I'd rather make my own but don't have room for another toy, I mean, piece of equipment!!! :D
