I just re-turned this oak bowl and put a couple of coats of Antique Oil on it. It was a piece of oak off the side of the street.

The birdhouse is from holly and the roof is made from gum.

What do you guys think?

All the best.

Nice work on both Don! Watch out for those birdhouses - they become addicting because they are fast to make and really cute!

Both are beautiful Don. Watch the birdhouses because they are addictive. They sell pretty good to around Christmas.

Don, Great little bird house and bowl. I am not sure the bowl is made from any oak I have ever seen, looks a lot like maple to me. The look of the grain and tightness of the grain (not porous enough for oak) pushed me to the maple.

Just an observation,

Jeff

Thanks guys for the nice comments. I am really beginning to enjoy the bowl turning as well as the small turnings that I have learned here.

Thanks for your continued help and support. Someday, I might even do some HF like Steve Schlumpf.;)

All the best.
