It's lasted 16 months. All that's wrong with it are the bushings. They have made easy access port to get to them. But, HF doesn't have any replacements on their site and no one in town has anything to help with.

Does anyone who knows about this kind of stuff, where on line I can get replacement bushings from?

Thanks
Anthony

If you can measure them accurately, McMaster Carr has a great selection of bushings

Thanks Doug,

What do I measure. What they once were, they are no longer. No pun intended... yes it was, couldn't help myself. Like I said, I don't know about these electrical things. The plate(giving all the spec.s) is still legible, if that is what you mean.

Anthony,

Do you still have the instruction manual? In every piece of equipment I've purchased from HF, the manuals have stated you can give them a call for parts. I suggest doing just that before trying to chase down equivalent parts from someone else.

I do dave all my parts books, but they are scattered in a couple of places. I'll give it a look see. And if they can do that, even if I can't find the book, they should be able to reference that for me. Maybe.

Thanks Dan

Go to Harbor Freight website and search for the vac unit. There is likely a manual online. Good luck

Measure the outside diameter of the bushing, that is likely unchanged. Then measure the outside diameter of the shaft that rides inside the bushing and add a few thousandths. That should give you the correct size.

...and remember it is most likely metric (made in China) so adjust your measurements to match. This is a handy website for all conversions:

Anthony,

Do as Leo suggests with the outside of the old bush and the shaft. Use one of these for measuring...

or
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=5658

Go to this site
http://www.msc-direct.com

Do a search on

bronze bush

Near the top of the page is
"Search By
Product Attribute Filters"

Click that, click "Go" on the next page then use the drop downs to choose the sizes you need. All of the sizes are in Inch even the Metric ones, so just select what matches, enter the length and Flange or no flange. For material you want "Oil impregnated bronze."
