Need advice on mobile bases. I am buying a used 3hP Delta Unisaw with a 54" fence and need to put it on a mobile base to accomidate my Jeep in my new shop building. I will build the extension tables myself and use commercial casters for the extension tables. I believe the gross weight will be around 550 lbs. I will buy a commercially available, adjustable base with casters. Several sources advertise these bases (Rocklers, Woodcraft, etc). Does anybody have any concerns or recommendations about particular brands?

I have one on my Unisaw made by HTC and it is a really great base. It has never let me down, and I have wheeled that thing around more times than I can count.

Here you go. Looks like they may have one that will fit your saw on clearence. From the chart it would be style "g". I would call them first to see if they still had one available. You can't beat $30.

Of course the real solution is to park the Jeep outside ;-)

Glenn,
I will sleep outside and let my Jeep use my bedroom. No real American would EVER let his Wrangler sleep outside.
