wood gloat redone

Here is a much better picture of the wood I was given. I have over 200 bf in 2x3x85. this is just shaved by the saw and not planed. I think its white pine now. the grain doesn't show up to well in the picture but you can see it. I sawed some down to 7/8 thick ( when I cut my hand) and the knots are mostly small and tight.

Keith, saw the post on the saw incident - a lucky boy!! I lean toward spruce, with white pine being a close second. I'm certainly not qualified to make that call, nor does it probably matter as they would be very close cousins. Looks like a good start on a bench! Although not as durable as SYP, it will certainly work, and again, the price is right!
