This was held at The Crucible in Oakland, CA a couple weekends ago.

It was fun playing around with high-dollar planes that I'll likely never own....

Mr. Mike Wenzloff and his beautiful saws! Also a cameo shot of Mr. Ron Hock. :)

I see myself in the backround of your first photo. The guy in the rust colored "puffy" jacket. I loved those planes.

Small world, Charles! Too bad we didn't meet. I was wearing my Creeker's hat in hopes of someone recognizing it and striking up a conversation....

More shots of Mike W. and some items on his bench.

Also a couple shots of a cute LN hammer....

That jointer plane is huge. I'd love to see one of those shows in person.
Great pictures!

While I did take a few pics, obviously I did not take the pics of shots with me in them! :)

A buddy of mine that I went with took most of the shots so he deserves your praise. Maybe he'll make an appearance on The Creek.... :)

That is a great show. Was able to go last year, but have moved far to the north.

Thanks for posting the pics.

These are great events for people to get the "hands on" experience.

Oh now that's just crazy - there I am in the background ...

I'm right above Mike's head ... hah! I recognized your jacket, too - dunno why I didn't see the SMC hat. What a comedy of missed opportunity, eh? :P

Jason Beam: Dork. Dork who needs glasses or a new perscription apparently!

;) :D hahahaha

Folks, Jason and I had agreed to meet for the first time at the event but it never happend. Obviously we were both there wandering around each other. Jason, I guess we'll exchange cell numbers next time! :D

I was looking at EVERYBODY's hats, too! People gave me some strange looks when they'd turn around only to catch me staring at 'em.

You were supposed to have a bright orange shirt!! :P :P :P :D

LOL! It was TOO BLOODY COLD to leave my jacket unbuttoned! I was hoping the hat would be enough. Blame the dark, damp, cold warehouse known as The Crucible!

Well, did you at least get a few phone numbers or dates from the experience?! ;) hahaha

Ditto. I used the little coffin smoother for a few minutes, and it was astonishing. When I hit the lotto....

I really enjoyed the show; I was too busy looking at the candy to be looking for hats though I'm afraid.

I loved the little plane Konrad made for his son. I ended up buying two of Mike's saws as well. I got a dovetail saw with a walnut handle and the carcass saw with a pear handle. Mike and his son are two great guys! Thanks for the saws Mike! I've only had the saws for a week but they do seem to cut really straight. What waiting list? ;)
