Just a small maple burl bowl I just finished up last night. It's 5.5 inches by 2 inches. AO and buffed. I made the mistake of turning it to thin when I first roughed it out. When I went to finish turn it I ran out of bowl before I ran out of warp. Oh well. I still like it. Let me know what you think.

Kind of looks like a restored ancient artifact - and well worth the effort, nice wood/nice finish/NICE JOB!
(not everything comes out like we plan, it doesn't mean that things don't turn out "right.")

Steve - I like it! Sort of a sort semi-natural edge bowl! Great looking wood - real rich color to it! Nice work! Agree with George - this one turned out right!

Steve....Great save/completion! Nice wood. I have several sitting in my shop that the warp was so great and I did'nt leave enough to turn out the warp. My fingers flinch everytime I think about finishing them.

Thanks for all the comments. The problem I had with this one was I thought it was dryer than it was when I started turning it. I was going to turn it in one turning. I was well into turning it and chickened out. I should have just finish turned it and taken my chances. I ended up taking it off the lathe and hand sanding most of the inside. I learned a lot on this one. I have some of this burl left so I hope to do better next time.
Thanks again......
Steve
