Someone was asking about chisels in another thread and recalled a set of unused James Swan for sale at Oldtools.com. It turns out they are listed as paring chisels, but it looks like they have square sides and they need handles.

While looking at the site, the strangest looking shoulder plane is listed in the collector tools. Never seen anything like this, has anyone else?

Actually, that is a very rare Salvador Dali hand plane. :D

Looks like a 1 off plane for planing right up against a 90 degree wall,since the handle tilts away.

That's not a unique design - it's a "Lancashire Pattern" rebate plane. I'm not sure if anyone knows which firm in the UK produced either the casting or the entire plane, but they come up occasionally for auction. It's another solution to the more familiar "Preston" style side rebate plane, on which the Stanley 98/99 is based.
