Has anyone mounted a wixey digital reader on a 20" planer and with what results?

There should be no difference from that mounting than on any other planar. Every one I know who did it was happy.

Yes, I have one on my 20 in Grizzly. You have to be a little "creative" to do it but its not difficult to do once you figure out the proper way. In my mind one of the critical areas of mounting it is to be sure its not mounted in such a way that its easy to hit with boards you are planing. To that end I mounted mine on the output side of the machine. I have the old style where the display is NOT angled upward which makes it difficult to read. With the "new" style monuting becomes a whole lot easier.

I have one on my Grizzly 1021x. Its not a 20" machine, but the 15" and 20" machines are very similar. Its been a great addition, adding EXACT precision to my planer. Getting exact results from a planer without a digital readout is very difficult. Here is a link to my thread with pics.
