Custom acrylic rod shapes?

Has anyone dealt with a manufacurer to have a custom shaped acrylic rod made for them?
If so, who was it and were you pleased with the product/price/deal?
If not, does anyone know what company might be able to produce a custom shape?
Otherwise, any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
I have seen star-shaped rod used in award towers, but don't recall seeing other shapes other than the usual round and square. If you have seen other shapes, I'd appreciate links or info about where you saw it.

Check your local yellow pages for a small plastics molder that does extrusions. Extrusion dies are fairly simple and not overly expensive. A small company probably won't hit you with huge minimum runs. (simple, not expensive, and small minimum runs are all relative terms)
