First off I'm new hear.
Now I have a jet 10" table saw with a 1.5hp motor...
The motor today decided to die.
It will start/try to start. As it starts to get up to speed, it will "get rough?", and stall out at a low rpm.... and has no torque.
I'm not sure what I should be trying in order to get this thing back up and running, as I am trying to finish up some furniture for a friend.

The bearings seem to be fine as the shaft spins easily and smoothly by hand, and there is no signs of burnt parts or connections.

Any help would be appreciated.

I broke into the motor and looked for a few things. Everything is clean inside, and all wiring connections were in tact.

My first guess would be that it is the capacitor as well, I will have to see if I can track one down or find someone to test it for me...

I'm guessing that the centrifugal switch is the thing located behind the fan, around the shaft at the back end of the motor. If so it is perfectly clean and seems to be functioning properly... not that i know how that is.
