I'm experimenting with rubber stamp material on my Epilog Mini 18 25 watt and am all the way down to 100 power, 5 speed on both raster and vector and am just barely getting enough depth on both. Are these settings consistent with what others are seeing?
Thanks

I make "lots" of craft stamps on my Legend EXT-75W.
I raster at 100% power at speed 7
I vector at 100% power at speed 15
You will need to use air assist or you will get a flame-up.

A 25W machine will require multiple passes. You may want to try the poly rubber. It is softer and does not require as much power.

Good luck!

On my 30-watt machine I use the following to do rubber stamps:

Raster/Stamp Portion:
Power: 100%
Speed: 15%

Vector/Cut:
Power: 100%
Speed: 1%

As Jim says, Air assist is a MUST !
I have had pretty good results with these settings, and I think the last one I actually rastered at 18% and Vectored at 2% -- Not a big deal but just to give you what I have. Penciled in notes says 18/2 @ 100 so I am thinging that is what I did last...who knows could have been my mixing ratio for the last drink I had....

Jim,

Those settings seem absurdly slow for a 75W machine...

Most of our sales are rubber craft stamps. These settings produce a deep etch that our customers prefer. I could raster faster, but I would not reach the depth required on a single pass.

We have a potential customer who does scrap booking. She is big into rubber stamps so I started doing some research. I would like input since we never did rubber so here are some links I found:

http://www.rubberstampmaterials.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=40

Seems like a nice selection of handle sizes - has anyone lasered these?

Not sure which one to buy.

Is the sheet reverse lasered - cannot tell from their images?

Any other advice would be appreciated.

I have been interested in rubber stamps of late.

I have had a representative at Millennium Marking come over to my house and we did some test runs with their no odor rubber. I have to admit I smelled almost nothing. And I was only using a regular air filter through my exhaust system. I didn't have the carbon filters in as I wanted to see just how "No Odor" it was.

Contact Walt Urias. I don't know if I am allowed to give his email or contact information here in the forum, so if you PM me I'll send it to anyone who wants it when I get home tonight. Either that or check my website and send me an email.

Walt was really good to talk to and work with.

I don't do a lot of 'craft' stamps, but when I buy those types of mounts they are usually a nice clean maple, and I laser the image into the top.. It only take a minute, and adds some more quality to the stamp over the 'printed' face from the craft stores

What do they charge for a sheet?

I believe he said it was $13.50 for an 8.5 x 11 sheet.

Not bad if it is really odor free, thanks.
