I am looking for something like this but with a bottom that will fit into a t slot track. Any ideas?

It would help me to see a picture or a link.

I think something didn't come through on your post:rolleyes:.

Shawn:

You seem to be missing a picture.

(At least I cannot see it)

I've probably got a dozen of them, but have no idea what they look like.

Jim, I think you are imagining the one that doesn't fit a t-slot. He needs one that does. I didn't see one last year when I missed the Ontario woodworking event.

I'll bet a good metal-worker could make one for under ten grand. Maybe quite a bit under. I would do it for five, but I couldn't guarantee the quality.

http://www.sawmillcreek.org/images/nopic_new_white.gifSorry, I was distracted by my 2 yr old. Hope this helps. It is not showing up for some reason. It is the Kreg vise grips that only have the one jaw, the bottom locks into a small plate. I want something that locks down like that, that fits into a t slot and is not 30 dollars a piece would help.

Still no picture, at least on this end (I.E. 7).

Shawn, rather than linking to a picture - upload it to SMC and attach it to the thread. That way we don't have to worry about the picture disappearing in the future and rendering the thread usless.

Here is an alternative:

I have one of those. It is a hold down for use on tools like a drill press.

It seems just changing the bolt on the bottom would be the solution. Mine has a large loop on the bolt with washers. Imagine a socket head bolt of the right size could fit through the tee slot. It might have to be ground down a bit.

Yes, thats it. I just want something similar, doesn't have to exact. I am wanting to make my own version of Kregs pocket hole assembly table.

Rockler has a lot of those in different sizes, like this one:

…for $15-$20.

How to attach to T-slot rail?

Brian Kent

My basic answer is to screw it to a base and attach the right size bolt underneath, so that the bolt-head fits in the t-slot. But I don't know if that lifts the whole clamp too far off of the table to get a good grip. I had hoped to stop by Rockler today to see, but did not have the time.
