OK, here are a few pictures of my 12 year old.

this is her first pen. (with a little help from dad). She had a lot of fun and wants to make another one. I also had fun.

Tell her the pen is beautiful and she did a great job on it. Wow it is priceless when you can spend some family time together and have fun to.

oops, she is a member here, I wanted her to post this but she didn't want to so I did. I forgot I was on her membership, rather than mine.

Bernie, she loves hanging out with me when I am doing woodworking stuff.

She can chop a nice mortise, but her pen really turned out nice. It is very comfortable for her hand.

She says she can't wait until she shows her classmates tomorrow.

Very cool Joe

I guess you have to get two lathes now so there will be no fights about who gets to use it. :D

Nice job, don't stop with one. Went to the Wood Show in Kansas City over the weekend. Several young ladies learning to turn pens at the show. They were all learning and doing a good job taking their time and listening to their instructor. Don't know where the boys were.

Great looking pen, Jennifer!!! Now you will have to make pen #2, #3, & so on. Hard to stop turning after that first pen! :)

thank you all,

and believe me she is ready for the next pen. She had a lot of fun.

More importantly she got to show it off in school today. Many of the kids didn't believe her.

One girl even asked "how did you make the metal pieces?"

Jennifer told them how pen kits work.
