Is there one color of flock over the other that is more popular for a jewelry box? I have always used blue. Thinking about using red.
In other words, What color would sell better at a craft show?

When it comes to esthetics, I yield to my wife, the artist. She swears by Navy Blue for the application. I recently completed four jewelry boxes for gifts. They were each made from a different wood and I used Burgandy (Ash), Navy Blue (Walnut), Deep Purple (Red Oak), and Plum (White Oak).

As far as what would sell best, I won't begin to hazard a guess, but of those I made, I liked the Navy and Purple better than the more reddish colors. My wife says the darker blues and purples display the jewelry better. There's an idea - drop by a local retail jeweler or two and see what background colors are used in their displays.

Most of my boxes tend to be darker woods...walmut, mahogany or purpleheart. I used ot use the darker flocking -- black and brown. Stumbled upon Bisque Tan -- perfect. Delightfully "soft".
