wet weekend

Hi All
It was a wet weekend here in Sydney (no rain on the fires in Victoria yet)
and I spent it with a nice coolabah burl. The finished bowl is 10' dia and 5" high the finish is 3 coats of light buffing oil it will be buffed with a light coat of beeswax in a week or so. It is a bit hard to photogaph but some of the gum voids actualy go right through I have chosen to leave it "chunky" to show of the burl with the top bead undercut on the inside

Graham, Very nice bowl! I love the wood and the lip turned in. I see where the gummy area looks through the bowl. You sure have some wonderful woods down there in Australia!
