I have looked through the previous threads on putting wheels/casters on Bandsaws for mobility. I seems that the consensus was that the Zambus type casters worked well (GLC too) but that the various universal mobile tool bases were not very good.
I am going to put casters on my GO312X2 and I have 2 locking 3" casters and 2 regular (http://www.woodcraft.com/product.aspx?ProductID=140639&FamilyID=1989). As long as I ensure that the casters are the right height underneath the base does anyone see a problem with using these. Thanks for the help,

Alan,

I added casters to my Ridgid band saw. I have to lock all 4 casters or the saw still moves a little. Adding casters makes the saw a breeze to move. Good luck

I have one of these on my 14 inch Jet with no problem.

Looking at those wheels, you don't want them under the saw you want them beside the saw. You want the saw just off the floor and the casters mounted on the side.

Alan, I used a Jet mobile base for my Craftsman 14" band saw.

I placed a sheet of plywood between the sided of the base and screwed the base of the saw to the plywood. It's very sturdy.

Hi Alan,
I used the same wheels but i modified a shop fox base .
I added 2 out riggers and when I resaw I put all four of them down.
When i am not resawing , i just lock all four wheels and it does not move.
