This is a apple form that I rough turned and cracked when drying. So not wanting to give up I turned it with the crack.

We gave this vase as a wedding gift with this card inclosed. "This vase came from an apple tree on your old farm where you grew up. As the wood in the vase was drying it cracked. It is called a stress crack. Sometimes in a marriage there are things that stress you out. This vase is a reminder to not let those stresses crack your marriage."

How cool is that!! Love the sentiment to go along with a form with a bit of ownership built into it. ..Bill..

Very nice.

I have to disagree on one point. That is NOT a crack that is a canyon!!!

Nice job.

Really awesome job. I just want to know how you kept it from splitting completely in half while finish turning it?

Ron, Apple if a fickle wood and hard to keep from cracking, I think it grows so slow and not very straight when if does contributes to the stress built up in it. I love the way you used the crack and the vase to share your thoughts with the happy couple! Very classy indeed!!

Great work.
