It's Tuuesday box pic day

This box is 8 inches long 4 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches high. The pattern is solid wood not just an inlay. I also put a small band of purple heart around the top of the box. The box is teak wood. The lid is made of maple with purple heart and maple pattern. The splines are also made of maple.

Nice box. One question, Do you have any problems with spliting by gluing the purple heart and maple together like that?

I really like that combination of woods.

I have been using gorilla glue on these small boxes I even dropped one of the boxes from waist height and the small joints held. So I decided to try it on patterned wood. Seems to hold up even in the planer.

I love boxes. Very satisfying to build, the wood is cheap, and they are (relatively) easy to build. Keep sending the pictures!!
