If this thread is better served in the finish forum please move. That said, I have one available to me. A good friend who was a master finisher passed away in december and most of his stuff is in a storage unit. His son in law asked me to come see if I want any of it. I claimed most everything and this Lex Aire unit with the guns would be a nice thing to have but here is my question.

What is it?
How does it work?

Remember, no stupid questions, just stupid answers right?:D

It is an HVLP (high volume low pressure) spray rig.

HVLP rigs have several advantages over the traditional high pressure systems. The biggest is that they have less overspray -- that is, they deposit more finish on the workpiece, and less on your shop.

Ok, so anyone have one and or know how these work? Is it worth having?

I have an hvlp unit, not a Lux-Aire, and I love it. Call Lex-Aire and get some intstructional material on your sprayer and familiarize yourself with it. Once you get comfortable with the rig, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.
