I am new to SMC but have been an avid reader of the forums. I finally found a 14 inch band saw I could afford though it does need a lot of tuning and/or repair.
After finding many positive references to Iturra Designs in Jacksonville, FL I tried calling them this morning (Feb 9, 2009) at 1-888-722-7078 to request a copy of their catalog - which has been referred to as the Bible on band saws. I had read that they do not have a website and telephone was the best way to contact them.
I got a recorded telephone company message that the number had been disconnected with no further information available
Does anyone have any knowledge of the status of Iturra Designs? I was looking forward to the extensive information and parts available through them.
Thanks!

Peter, thank you very much. That telephone number (904-642-2802) worked great! They said they had disconnected their toll free number but they were the same company in the same location (Jacksonville, FL).

I'm now eagerly awaiting my catalog :D

Glad to hear they are still in business. Great products and loads of tips in their catalog.

Good luck on the catalogue.
I called on 12-20-2008, and 1-29-09, and still don't have it.
I've been waiting to order a 1/2 blade, but can't wait much longer.

Same here - waiting 4+ weeks for catalog. Also has a new toll free number 1-866-883-8064 but he doesn't seem to answer it sometimes. Business must be painfully good but he's gonna lose me as a new customer pretty soon.

First, remember that their catalog is FREE. It's a BOOK! They only do about four mailings a year so as to get bulk rate postage. I suggest, and it's only my suggestion, that after you get your catalog, you send them some money to help defray costs of the catalog. With the economy being what it is, I don't find it surprising that they dropped their toll free number. Besides, most of us use cell phone for these types of calls. You will get your catalog, just not overnight.

I waited so long for my catalog that when it finally arrived I had forgotten that I ordered it. Glad to hear that they are still in business. These days it seems to be a coin-flip as to whether a small business is going to be around.

Louis is not known for fast delivery of catalogs (some have waited a year or more) but is known for great customer service at more than fair prices.

Sarge..

I'll also vouch for his good products and prices. I suspect that if you call and tell him what you need, he'll help you figure out what to order even before you get the catalog. I suspect that he's much like everyone else about now and can use the business.

Just call and order a Blade Runner blade and he will ship the catalog with the order.
