Hello everyone, I recently watched the Rob Cosman DVD on the hidden hinge box. Great Video. I have been struggling with two aspects. First, making the doweling jig. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on this. my 1/4 inch stock seem to come out pretty uneven and a lot of it snaps off. It also gets really hot going through the "tunnel".

The second problem is setting up the "core box" bit. Any tips on how to set up this bit. Once you set it up for the bottom (box) piece can you leave it and use the same setting on the lid piece?

Thanks in advance,

Todd

For your first question you have to play with the plane iron angle and make darn sure it is sharp and the back is flat. Your burning could also be caused by incorrect sizing of the feed hole.

For your second question I would have to go back and watch the video again.
