Nothing for sale here but they describe many different types of wood irregularities and show picture examples. I found it interesting.

I agree with the interesting part. There are so many names for the 'reaction' woods. So many of them look so similar, and I would bet that I could mix some pictures around and no one would notice.

I would disagree with Crotch wood being 'compression wood'. To me, that means it is getting squished, and the fiber does an accordian thing, causing the various ripple patterns. A crotch is the opposite, it is trying to get pulled apart by the weight of the branches. The wood under where the branches come in always has some compression figure.

Personal rant now over.
