Does anyone own the Jack Rabbit countersinks? I bought a set last June and I just started to use them but I'm having lots of problems. The bits will not tighten up and just spins. They are also not turning straight in my drill (tried several). They turn in a concentric circle. This is not rocket science, what am I doing wrong? I'm ready to send them back and buy something else!

Problem solved! Apparently it takes a lot more torque than I was using to tighten the collar. I put it in a vice so I could get a better grip and then tightened it as far as it would go. My arthritis in both hands made it difficult for me to get the proper torque. I guess I'll keep them since they seem to have doubled in price since I bought mine. I paid $49.95 now $113.99 at Amazon.

Glad that worked out. Sorry about the pain in the hands. I have a few "helpers" around the shop that increase leverage, lower weight and so forth as the ground just keeps getting farther and farther away.

They all seem to "wobble", even if your drill chuck and arbor are perfect and not bent. I use these quite often in my work, and the only way I have found to get around the wobble is to start the hole with the bit in contact with the material. The end result was always suitable for the fasteners I was using.

Your right George, I was shocked to see the price at Amazon. I decided to buy the complete Fuller set from Rockler since I had a 20% off one item email.

Hartville Tool has apparently become the "official" distributor for the jack rabbit. They still have them for $49.99.

Is Jack Rabbit the preferred choice? I've gone thru several of the Hitachi from the blue borg. I'd like to buy something of better quality for this type of use.

I just used mine today after solving my tightening problem and it worked great. It is the one Norm uses on his show but that is not saying it is the best. I always liked the spade style countersinks but I broke all of mine and have not been able to find any.
