I received some Heart Pine Pen Blanks from Bennett Willis. These are two of them, One is a Comfort Pen, the other two Polaris Pens are made from one blank. The pic isn't a good one, but it shows the dents...:o
Forgive the scars, please, because I fumbled, and dropped two of them. :(
The wood was easy to work with. The Heart Pine really has some beautiful grain, and if you've ever restored any really old woodwork, you will remember the smell when you are turning and sanding.
The beauty of the wood is worth the little bit of gumminess of the sap. And a soft bristle brass brush will clean the paper, quite easily.
I ordered two more packages of the blanks.
(I am not connected to Ben in any way, other than being a satisfied customer.)
