Best Woodburning System?

Those of you who use a woodburning system for your name and or decoration, which system do you like best?

Colewood, Razortip, and Burnmaster are probably the three most popular. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Razortip makes the best pens (IMO). They are compatible with most burners on the market.

Those that Neal mentioned were all too expensive for me. Someone built one from an old 12 volt battery charger, and put it online. Someone modified it, and built one for himself. I built one modeled after his.
12 volt battery charger, Rheostat switch for a ceiling fan, short stick of wood, and some wire couplers. Then make your own tip from nichrome wire. I use min for signing my pieces. Gets hotter than any of the cheapies I've been using from Wallyworld.

Razortip makes very nice burners and tips, I do use their tip.

My problem was like Allens, so I built one from an old ships radargun transformer I had, so price was just the wire and pen, works fine for my use of signing my turnings with it :D.

Most of the pros rotations I have seen, use home made units like Allen suggests. They are more powerful than the commercial unit. With the price they can sell, they can afford the best money can buy.
If you want to buy instead of making your own, most recommend Burnmaster. It has 130 watts and comes with cords that allow you to use different brands of pens. It comes with 3 years warranty and is cheaper than most.
