Send a woman to do a man's job and you'll get a better product every time;) .
Asked a friend to pick up floor mats at Sam's Club. Expecting the usual black or industrial rust color, these arrived to my delight. The bright pastels are a little loud, I can't here my power tools. :o Neighbors are complaining.
If it saves just one chisal blade or plane iron it will be worth it

Don't try doing any gymnastics on those mats though!:D
I have seen them in black before at a yard sale I should have got em:(

Boy Tyler....those are really loud..!!! I can here'em from here.!! :D

BTW, Did you hand-cut or machine cut those dovetails on those floor mats?  :D Gotta love those interlocking "wood" joints you got there!!

Whoooaa. Now those are probably the most colorful thing I've seen in a shop. Almost a shame to get them dirty.

They wouldn't be loud in our neighborhood though. Nothing could top the din from the clothes some of the teens around here wear. :)

Uh Oh !!!

It looks like your going to have to go pick up some new paint chips and some fabric samples to match. It's time to redecorate.

It looks Like Pastels are in and Concrete is out !!:D

Way To Go Tyler !!!

Cheers !!

LMAO, You guys crack me up:p . Really makes a difference. I knew about foot fatigue, back and joint pain from standing on concrete but there was instant relief, Have boring black mats around the shop but would always stand or drop something elsewhere. Like em and like the talented and lovely who got them for me. Pray for me, she could make me write bad checks!

Very "pretty" Tyler....you will now need to redecorate completely, let see..."the tablesaw dosen't go with the planer....a blue drill press would be perfect here...some plad curtains and a small Persian runner" Nice beggining

Mark, I agree with the color coordinated tools, but they can accent each other as well. No PC grey with DeWalt yellow though. Yuck. One other thing...I don't know that plaid curtains would go with a Persian runner. Besides, plaid isn't in this year. I think paisley prints are making a comeback though, and they would tie in nicely with the floral patterns in the Persian runner.

Tyler, maybe you could design a futon that transforms into a workbench. You could have seating when you're entertaining, then flip it around into a bench when you're ready to go to work.

...posting -- because I noticed the mats are essentially dovetailed. She did great! And I'll bet your seeing those mats as you enter the shop will make you smile.

Colleen, I hear them before I get to the shop. I love em!:D

How are the state birds (sceaters) up your way?? If I put this WW shindig together will you come?? These shy Minnesotans got me a little concerned.:o
May have to run out east to see how the others do things.

Hi, Tyler,

If you put on a shindig, I'll be there. Bugspray will be first on my list, followed by anything else you want me to bring!

Regards,
Colleen

PS. Hope this "appears" okay; I'm not experienced at The Posting Thing yet.

A little too much testosterone around here. We need the woman's perspective.

Hey Tyler, I went to the local feed store to pick up some shop dog food and grass seed yesterday and they had these beautiful stall mats. They were solid rubber, about 3/4 " thick, and about 3 by 4 feet. $34 for one. I think I have to go back this week and pick up a couple they are usually close to $100 bucks.

The only downside was that they only came in Black and they did not carry them in pastel :(

Kind of gloomy out this way today, but this explains why I see those rays of pastel colors shooting up into the sky, off to the West! :D

I have them around the lathe where I stand for long periods of time. They work great, I like them better than the one piece mats I have.

Standing by for gloat w/pics :)
