Played my regular Sunday morning round of golf this morning. Started off like I had never played before. Double bogey first hole, triple bogey on the second hole. Had to walk back to the cart and talk to myself. Since the game was $1 skins (w/ carryovers), $1 greens in regulation, $2 birdies, $4 eagles I figured I would be out of Bud Light money for a couple of weeks.
After talking to myself for awhile --- a light came on and the rest is now history. Won 14 of 18 skins, and the real story is on Number 10 (180yd par 3) I hit a 3 iron in the hole for a hole-in-one resulting in a $1 greenie, a $4 eagle, 3 skins (2 carryovers) with 3 other players resulting a $24 hole. After being 5 over on the first 2 holes I finished 10 over (82) for the round.

...it ain't an eagle, it's a hole in one. A great hole in one. Should have been worth a minimum of $25.00 from each player. ;)

A hole in one on a par 3 is an "eagle" - A hole in one on a par 4 is a "double eagle". I thought you were a golfer.

Ken, Congratulations! The whole in one is great news, however, it's better news that you won. I do not think us creek folks could survive two weeks with you low on Bud Lite and not having a Bud Lite fund to fall back on. Good game for you and Very Good Break For Us.:D

Ken Congrats & Welcome to the club :D

Course mine was just a little 118 yarder but it was a sweet moment. perfectly hit 9 iron, 1 hop & in the hole, on the 9th hole with about 25 people watching, including my dad & my best friend. Right after I hit the ball my friend said "I've never seen a hole in 1 before" & in it went!

I've never hit the wall of China - but I've hit people, cars, houses, & lots of trees. I even almost hit an Alligator once on Kiawah Island SC.

A bad day golfing beats any day at work - A great day golfing beats most things :D

Very impressive. Sounds like a new display case for the hole in 1 ball is in order. Have you given it any thought?

Way to go, Ken!!

I wish I could hit a 3 iron 180 yards. ;-) It's funny hearing about golf scores when there's still a couple feet of snow on the ground. If you ever make it to the Northeast, we'll have to play Sugarloaf in Carabassett Valley. I never got a hole in one but I hit a guy in the chest once. On the fly with a driver(par 4- he was on the green). It was on the eighteenth, he putted out, threw his clubs in the car and drove off before I even had a chance to catch up to him and apologize.

Glenn,

Great picture! :-)

Zack,

I wasn't aware of the missing key crisis but I'm relieved to hear you found them. :-)

I'm pretty sure that the old custom for making an ace is a round of drinks for the house....I guess you'll have to make good on that in April!!

Congrats, you feisty dog.....I've played golf 20 years and still haven't gotten my first ace (been less than 1/2" center cup). My neighbor got his first this past summer during an outing...that dog pocketed a cool 10K....I guess I'll keep my day job.

Later....

Way to go!

I hit one to about 7" a couple of years ago. I don't think I've even hit that green again since. DB

Haven't been able to get back on the golf course in 8 years ... was not very good anyway, but loved to walk the course and give it a try. I'd hit one good shot out of 20 and that would be enough to get me through.

Your "1" should hold you for quite a while :)

or an Eagle. You are correct on both, but I have had lots of eagles, but no hole in ones.

That's golf, I played golf in Cabo in January. The course kicked my rear all day long. I get to the 17th, the signature hole and what the marshall said is one of the best shots in golf. We play from the back tees and I par it. Who cares what the rest of the day looked like I pared the signature hole from the tips.

I was in hog heaven. Just to set the mood. A par three over the ocean to a green surrounded by rocks. Wasn't a hole in one, but almost as nice considering the course kicked my rear all day.

You know they say the first is the hardest.

Great Job Ken... I'm very jealous... Best I've ever done is an eagle on a par 5. Congrats...
