I don't suppose there is any chance any of this free wood making its way up to Austin. I have to be in Austin March 14 for a wedding. Will only have a car but it will hold several pieces. Thanks for any help that might be provided.

I'm a fairly new turner from Michigan. We are in the San Antonio area for the next 2 weeks and I would love to take some mesquite home to turn into bowls. Does anyone know of a good source in the area if I'm too late for the mesquite mentioned in the earlier message.
This forum is great and I'm glad I found it!

Too bad I'm flying to SA in couple months. Might be kinda hard to bring some of that back in my carryon luggage. If I make a roadtrip that way, I'll definitely give you a call.

I should be in the area visiting my son sometime this summer. Can you slap some anchor seal on all those pieces and save them for me?;)

I hope the wood finds a good home... or two... or twenty. I will be looking for pictures of the results.

Boy you mention free and it brings em out of the dark and dusty corners!! LOL
Thats some haul there, I see a couple crotch pieces and everything hiding in there.
You should call this the "Great Texas Mesquite Haul" and everyone who gets a hunk of it post their project here for us to see. Would be cool to follow the wood and where it ends up!!

Being in San Antonio I contacted Jim, He gave me the e-mail to the lady that had the material. I tried 3 times to contact her with no response. O well there is plenty or mesquite in this neck of the woods. I have a friend that is supposed to take me out west a few miles where he has a fallen log of mesquite that is 25" across and 10' feet long. I hope I get that one.

Alan,
I exchanged a couple of emails with Cindy (the lady to whom you refer), and then no further response. Only hope she has not had some misfortune.
