We do air combat with our radio control planes on weekends. During a particularly nasty mid air collision my buddy's motor mount shattered. The local hobby shop is closed on Sunday so we decided to cut one on the laser. Came out much better that expected. We made the repair and when the batteries were done charging, we headed back out to the field. One my first flight, the same thing happened to me...busted motor mount. I should've made a spare!

Maybe you should spread the word around, there might be others out there who want the same.

Hey Dave,
Nice work.
I do the same stuff. We'll have to share some designs. I've been flying for 20 years. Right now I'm polishing my drawings for some HO and N scale buildings.
This is for a 72" Extra. It's an Axi 1000W motor.

Tom,

Wow, you got me beat on design. Mine was for a stickmount ... considerably easier. I just threw something together before we lost the light.
Nice work

You mean these things are electric now? I haven't tried model plane flying since the old fly-em-in-a-circle-on-2-strings days.. Oh ya, and the rap to the back of the index fingers when the noisy little .049 finally caught..

Yup. Clean, quiet, instantaneous power... what's not to love?
