I'm brand new to this forum, so here goes. My next purchase is going to be an edge sander. But which one? I did a search and got some opinions, but Il'l ask once again. I'd like to keep the cost below $1,000. I see Powermatic has a new model which will be out in the fall. I've heard some negative things about any sander that does not have a cast iron platen, which of course means spending more. I am not a professional, so my tools do not get that kind of work out. But I have also learned that getting a good deal on something inferior ends up costing much more when you replace it with what you should have bought in the first place. Confused? Well I am. So enter your choice here. Thanks.
