This is a bowl from a large White Elm, the chainsaw I had then 14" wasn't able to cut the log and I ended up sawing cutting side pieces off then take the center part, anyway I got some pieces from it in 2006 , roughed them out and left to dry.
All of the wood has stains in it, as the tree was dying before getting cut over.
Though I considered it still good enough to use for working bowls, anyway here's it is :)
All comments appreciated :D

Pretty bowl Leo and a good size too. BTW way to sneak in and make that date edit. Now those other folks sound like idots! And here I was about to ask about your ability to still turn at 100+ years of age!!!...Bill...

Thanks Steve :D, well somethings we can't change Steve, but I would have liked no knot in there, or at least at a better location, same with the stain in the wood, but I guess I should be thankful for what I got, it isn't everyday I find a 3 foot+ diameter Elm to cut up for turning wood :D :D

Very nice job, Leo. I like the foot on that one. And I cut down an elm before I started turning. Dang.

Thanks Gary, yes I know I've burned quite a bit of it also, as I didn't think it was very good turning wood
