Congrats! Retirement is fun. I got bored so I got a fun part time job. Use to give me extra spending money, now with the stock market like it is it is a necessity!

You will enjoy it, but retirement is expensive!

Congratulations on the retirement. After 32 years, I got one of those offers you shouldn't refuse back in '05. Turned (no pun intended) out to be a great thing, you are going to like your new freedom, enjoy!

You know what they say about retirement: Too much time and too little money. Well a lathe and shop will easily fill that extra time while making sure you have even less money. I speak from experience, but I'm loving every minute of it. Congrats!

Terry I love your signature.. it's so true.

Congrats on the (early?) retirement. Welcome to the club.

When people ask what you do will you define yourself as your old job and say "I'm a retired engineer" (I assume) or will you tell them "nothing" or something more fun like artist, woodworker, musician or whatever you aspire to be?

Now is your chance to redefine yourself and be whatever you want. Just because nobody pays you to do it (YET) doesn't mean you aren't what you say. It just means you are no longer a slave to wages. Have fun :)

Pa Tuey??? Ok I can accept that.

Joe I am not going anywhere. We would like to move south of Springfield to be closer to our grand daughter. We will just have to see what the market is going to do.

Congrats, As you have heard me say 'Work is such a distraction from the things I am good at'. I know you'll enjoy. I had a fantasy of retiring very early but my 401K perfomance of 2008 has changed my plans. Maybe I'll get out at 60.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I intend to utilize my shop to the fullest. I have a back log of approx 250 bowls dried and ready to finish. I am also getting into hollow forms. I have access to 3 tree removal log dump areas so there will never be a shortage of turning stock. Maybe I will start selling dried rough outs.

Rod what brand of motorcycle are you riding. I bought a Suzuki Boulevard C50T last year. The weather is susposed to get into the 50 this weekend. Thats riding weather.
