I can get a like new Jet 1.5hp DC1100 dust collector with remote for $250.00. It has the cannister on top. The Delta 50-760 has been rated very high for the collectors in this class.

What would you do?

I like my Delta 50-760. One + for Delta: comes with a 1u filter bag.

What's the rating on the Jet cannister?
The remote's a nice feature, though.

I have the Jet w/canister. I added a Thien baffle (do a search for it) to it and am very pleased with it's performance. I have it hooked up to 6" ducting in my garage shop and use it like a central DC system.

The Delta 50-760 was recently rated the best in air-flow, and it is quieter than most.

The Jet for $250 sounds like a good deal. I just got a Delta 50-760 which I really like. It replaced a Penn State 1hp canister dust collector. The 50-760 has a lot more power.

A question for Mike. I was thinking of adding the Thein baffle to my system. Are you using 6in connections to your barrel/baffle?

I have the Delta 50-760, not the Jet - so that tells you where my decisions went. but at that price, and if it's a good canister - that sounds like a good deal.

I am not sure if I see the point in the remote. I have the Delta, and really like it, but I don't think it is powerful enough to power a built-in DC system. I just wheel it from tool to tool, so flicking it on is not exactly a big deal. My one complaint is that bigger casters would have been nice, because in rolling the thing around, I am constantly hitting the cord and stopping short.

For me, I plan on getting a remote. Although I know it's on the small size, I am going to try to "pipe it in" as a permanent DC; the shortest (direct runs) will be to my TS [stationary] and thickness planer [on wheels]. My shop is small and most stuff is on wheels, so in some respects, I'm bringing the tool to the DC, not the other way around. But even in my small shop, I need to walk *around* my TS and anything else I have in the way to get to the on/off switch, which is a PITA.

The baffle I added is attached to the steel rim inside the DC not to a separate can. I can send you pics if you PM me.

I just bought the same Jet DC. I paid $230 for it, but $250 is still a good deal. Although the Delta rated highest in a recent FWW article, the Jet came in close. I think, practically speaking, its similar in quality.

That's a great deal.. go for it!
I have the 50-760 equipped w Wynn filter and Ranger remote.. works great and I recommend it, but it costs a lot more than $250 for what is close to similar performance.

Well, the seller just "clarified" that his does not have the canister or the remote. He said it is the same as in the link that he had posted.

Here is the link he had,

If that's the case, I'd go for the 50-760 bkz the 1u bag is standard.
