My dad bought me this plane for Christmas. It seemed to do well out of the box at first glance but after a few passes, it seems to get shaving stuck on the edge of the blade. Is there any modificaitons I can do to make the ~$20 plane a performer?

How thick of a shaving are you taking?

Cambering the blade would likely be of help.

Not being familiar with the construction or design of this model, it is difficult to come up with details of adjustments that may help.
