Maple Hollow Form

Fresh off the lathe----just had to show her off. Spalted Curly Maple with all kinds of color. The only finish at this point is a coat of oil buffed in on the lathe. This stands about 9 inches tall.

Bernie I have a bunch of it-----Today I am going to take on a monster.
It's a chilly 17 degrees here so it's going to take a while to warm the shop up.

I really like that piece of wood, but I'm not to crazy about the form. Unless it's meant to be one of those Kentucky corn squeezin' moonshine jugs. A little more curve would help the form and bring out more of the beauty of that fine piece of wood.

Pretty wood, but I agree with Curt about the form. A bit more curve would help IMHO.
