Does anyone here have one of these saws yet? What are your thoughts? Do you like the granite? Ease of setup? Thanks for the input.

Does anyone have one now? I've looked at the one on display and I like the fit/finish, especially compared to other contactor saws. I'm thinking I may break down and buy one to speed up some of my operations (repeat cuts and dados).

Ridgid has some woodworking forums located here:

Several people have bought that saw and you can find their opinions of it, as well as pictures, assembly tips, etc.

Haven't seen one or used one, but I did catch a pic of the trunnions...pretty impressive IMHO for a $600 unit.

Granite sounds a bit problematic to me if durability is concerned.

I would be afraid of Chips, cracks, and I read somewhere that a guy said there's no miter slot reinforcement.

Though if you're careful with the top then granite should be fine. I just know a couple occasions where the top of my table saw might have gotten chipped if it were granite and not metal.

Then again, they sell 2-part epoxy chip repair kits for granite counter tops that would probably work ok.
