This piece of cocobolo started out as a 12" platter but due to a crack (that I didn't notice when I bought it) became a 9 3/4" shallow bowl. Got the idea from a book by Robert Chapman, "Woodturning - A Fresh Approach." Also attempted to duplicate the foot as he showed on p.128. It was the first time I used the Trend respirator which I got after so many recommendations on this forum. It was a very enjoyable and simple project after months of only doing hollowed forms. The only difficulty was buffing it on the Bealle 3 wheel system. Guess it's time to spend more money and get another buffing ststem.

Beautiful flowing colors in this piece. I like the form but am more of a traditional turner as far as the foot goes. Just my taste. . Still.....gotta love it...Bill..

Good looking bowl Bill! Beautiful wood and finish!

I have been using my Trend for about 2 years now and use it for everything woodworking. Once you get in the habit you will always grab for it first thing! I find that it is comfortable enough that I forget that I have it on!
