It's about 6 inches tall. Not sure of the wood. This is the FIRST Final product off my new mustard. I have two others waiting to be finished while drying in bags. Those two are about 60#+ so I decided to finish something small today.

What do ya think?

I was going to mount an 80# block on it but my faceplate was still connected to something else that I was giving a few days to dry. I had forgotten to reverse it and use a chuck. The faceplate that comes with the lathe doesn't have the clearance for the bolts I use so I decided to do something small and thats how this came about. Don't worry Dustin, I'll give it a workout soon.

Does mesquite change color with age? This stuff has been in a bag almost a year. The same wood when freshly cut is very light in color.
