Hi Charles,
I've used that technique to decorate the edges of serving plates. Never did occur to me to use it in climb cutting. Thanks for the eye opener.

That guy might have some good advice. He appears to have experience in the matter as his left index finger looks like he also discovered "BUMP SAWIN"... a less successful technique for use on the table saw.;)

Good advice, Charles. I especially like the molding effect too. It would look good if you just did it in the center of a piece of molding.

After making all the bump cuts, you could still take advantage and do a climb cut, as the bumps would not give the bit a lot of "traction" to pull it out of control. Sometimes when I club cut, I use an edge guide to keep from taking a large bite. If you keep the material removed to 1/8" of depth or slightly less climb cutting isn't hard to do safely.
