Long term plan - upgrade to a newer saw with a CI extension wing w/router insert.

current need - use my existing saw....for now it's servicable and does what I need of it. I'd love a larger CI surface. I built an extension table, but....given that you can easily pick up these saws pretty cheaply (usually with blown motor).....what would it take to use the table from another saw and mate it to my existing table?

Anyone ever done something like this?

John, I have a 30 year old Craftsman saw and I attached a second cast iron table to the right side. You do have to build a saw station as the original stand will not take the extra weight. This gives a cast iron table 40 inches wide. It has greatly improved vibration which is now almost non existant. Nothing like an extra 100 pounds of cast iron to smooth things out.
