Bill,

I'd love to see this in person. If you come to the DWR in February, be sure to bring some of your work for the instant gallery. I'd love to see in person these pieces I've admired from afar.

Unfortunately, when I finish one of these, it's in the mail the next day. It's going to Canada to a Smoke shop in Alberta. Business has been pretty slow. I don't know if I'm even going to be able to go. Believe me, it makes me sick. I'm trying to sell a few big ticket items today. If it all comes together I'll sign up asap.

I hope you're able to close those sales and that your business picks up. If you can't make it to the DWR, we'll still have to arrange some time to meet. Perhaps on my next run down to Tucson I can come by your business just to shake your hand. You've a real talent for turning (and I'm hoping some of it might rub off on me).

This is beautiful just like the others. I hope that nobody actually uses one as an ashtray. It would be a shame to mess them up. I hope business improves. I'm a little worried myself, as things have started to slow down this month.

Bill, that is very nice I think that is my favorite. I also hope your business picks up. Mine is down to but has been pretty good this month. I will keep my fingers crossed for both of us.

Good Luck

Wow that is another beauty Bill. I probably would use it for show because it is to pretty to put ashes in.

I have to agree with Bernie, your work is way too nice for ashes.

Bill, They are all so beautiful! I would hate to crush out a big stogie in one! But that is their intended purpose. Great job and keep on turning those beautiful butt holders!!!

Amazing us usual Bill, I love the way it looks like its "folded" up and down. The way the grain gives that illusion is really a nice touch!!

Bill ,just had to take a second look at it before posting. It is absolutely beautiful. I hope the new owner will use it for change and keys at the end of the day instead of for ashes.

I'm sorry, but that is too beautiful to have ciger butts smashed out in it.

Instead, put candy or nuts in it.

Bill,
You do such beautiful work, it's always a pleasure to open one of your threads! Outstanding job and great choice of wood used.
I would have to agree with the others who have said it, but I hope this will never see an ash resting in it.

Thank you all so very much. I've done about 6 or 7 so far and no one has ashed in one yet as far as I know. Usually they arrive and they show them to their wifes and the wife says "No way are you using that as an ashtray, give me that" So I think they are safe.:D

What kind of finish do you use that might (sacrilige) stand up to a hot stogie? Simply gorgeous!
