Here's one of my latest returned bowls, made from a Krimson King Maple that grew at my neighbors across the street and was cut down for driveway widening about 5 years ago, and rough turned at that time.
It has some beeswax salad bowl finish on it.
All comments are welcome :D

Very eligant, Leo. :) The banding lines around the rim really set it off. Are those burned?

Very nice bowl Leo! Love the form! The detail lines offset the monochromatic color of the maple by adding just a touch of contrast! Good idea!

Good to see you posting your work again! Was afraid you were taking the winter off! ;)

Leo, That one uses all the log as you are close to the pith on the top! I like to do that also, I like how the growth rings shrink as they come to the rim!

Great job and nice finish,

Jeff

Leo,

That's a very elegant bowl. I like the nice round shape, the flair at the rim, the burn lines that accent the maple, the sloping edge into the bowl, and the way the foot makes the bowl seem to float off the table. It's like a simple black dress on a beautiful women. Elegant and never out of style.

Beautiful bowl Leo!

Interesting in that the way you placed the bowl in your second photograph it appears as if the outside of the bowl is transparent. It looks to me as I am looking through the side of the bowl into the interior. Beautiful!

Thanks everyone for your kind remarks, it's very much appreciated :D :D
Steve you are right I didn't post much in the last little while, kind of busy, but mostly winter caught up with me I think :o, miss the nice sunny weather, even though winter is pretty, but ...... toooo darn cold for my liking :D, had to haul the snowblower out, I was trying to ignore all the snow, but LOML insisted that anyone visiting our place would get stuck in the driveway and sit there the rest of the winter , well I got almost stuck with the blower trying to get to the driveway LOL , can't wait for spring to come around :D
