Ottoman Design Question

Hi All,

A quick quick question. I'm thinking about starting to plan out an ottoman. Is there a standard height for an ottoman, or a certain height relative to the height of the chair it is to be used with?

Any help is appreciated. I'm new to the forums and really enjoy everyone's pics and comments.

I don't know of a standard height for an ottoman. I suggest you experiment. Get a board and prop it up at various heights in front of your favorite chair. Put your feet up on it, and fiddle around until you find a height that feels good to you. Who knows -- maybe you're different from that mythical average person. Your furniture should fit you.

It depends if you plan on actually using it or if its just for looks ?? Any I've seen / used are either same height as the chair seat or roughly 2/3 that height.

Most are the same height as the chair seat.
