Heres a few pens my 13 year old boy made with his new lathe. I bought him a cheap lathe to start with . We didnt know if he would stick with it. He bought his jet with his own money. Hes hooked.

It is a wonderful thing to see a young man enjoying a great hobby! So far it looks like he is well on his way to becoming another woodturning master!

Great pens and pretty duck call, does he go out and use the call? Because hunting is my other favorite passion and it seems that they go together well!

Congratulations on all his turnings, and to you for raising a great son!

Very nice. My daughter just started turning and has a few pens under her belt now. It catches them fast.

By the end of the year he will be doing hollow vessels and segmented vases.

Who did the engraving?

Keith, Tell your son he did an outstanding job.

I'm lucky enough that two of my grand daughters (14 and 13) love to turn and even do demos.

It's great when our younger generations get involved in things other than TV and video games.

Very nice work; and you both are to be commended... Him, for doing such good work, that made him enough to get his own lathe. And you, for getting your Son involved in a hobby that can last a lifetime.
You both will treasure these times spent together, and the memories of them.
Great!

Keith - please let your son know that he is doing an outstanding job with his turnings! Love the variety of pen styles and materials! Really like the duck call - don't believe I have ever seen one as colorful! Best thing is the photo of the young master in front of his lathe! Doesn't get any better than that!

Exceptionally nice turnings! I look forward to seeing more of them real soon! Thanks for sharing!

Great looking pens... I love the coloring on that duck call. It's especially nice when you can see someone young get hooked on a hobby like this.

His smile makes me smile.

This sort of stuff makes the teaching and encouraging of young men and women in turning so worth while. I LOVE to see kids "get it" like this and so obviously turned on. Way to go, son and father!!
